BAM-SKILLS overall objective is to improve inclusion and quality of life of people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities by equipping VET providers, social workers, art&labour therapists and other care professionals with new competences and training tools based on cultural prescriptions and adapted arts&craft activities, and by helping them to verify their competences acquired through different educational experiences.
Specific objectives:

Strengthen the capacity of social carers and professionals, while offering informal carers and unemployed people opportunities to improve skills or enter the social sector through a Training Programme on cultural prescribing and adapted arts & crafts, supported by a VET Educator’s Manual.

Support social workers, art and labour therapists, and carers in validating their competences through a two-stage piloting of the Training Programme, international training, and national case studies.

Build a network of trained professionals in each partner country to act as future instructors and promoters of the project approach.

Raise awareness at national and EU level on the importance of continuous capacity building and competence validation in the social sector.

Promote interdisciplinary and transnational cooperation to foster innovation in social care, education, and VET services.
Results

A Training Programme and VET Educator’s Manual for applying cultural prescribing and adapted arts & crafts with people with cognitive or intellectual disabilities.

A functioning competence verification system, tested through two-stage piloting and supported by an international training event.

National case studies demonstrating how to validate skills acquired through diverse educational experiences.

Local promotional teams established in partner countries to sustain and spread the project approach.
