When it comes to life-long learning and entrepreneurship, usually the focus is on younger generations or on middle-age adult learners. The elder adults are left aside, although with the growing life expectancy rates in all European countries, these people are strongly interested in ‘active ageing’. The WHO defines the term as “the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age”. With the CreaS project we want to create opportunities for the target group of elder adults to get involved in life-long learning and community led activities, so to stay active, included and socialised after retirement or at the later stages of their career paths.
Main objectives of the project:
1) increase the AVAILABILITY OF SUITABLE HIGH QUALITY LEARNING RESOURCES for this specific target group;
2) encourage them to GET ENGAGED IN NEW EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES, thus involving them in life-long learning;
3) go one step further – and MOTIVATE them to take the lead and to become SENIOR PEER-TO-PEER EDUCATORS and to inspire and involve other elders.
