When communicating with an adult learner with mental or intellectual disability, it is important to know and use adapted communication strategies. According to scientists, when working with aggressive adults, the most important thing is to be able to calm down and not to provoke even greater conflict, use proactive strategies to avoid aggression. Adult educators still face the serious challenges caused by the lack of knowledge regarding emotional intelligence of people with mental, intellectual disabilities. Therefore, this project is designed to expand the knowledge regarding the training activities of adults with mental or intellectual disabilities to deal properly with their aggressive behaviour and other emotions.
Project results:

Database of methods for managing aggressive behaviour and building emotional resilience of adult educators, other specialists working with the final beneficiaries;

SPOOC – Self-Paced Open Online Course with 7 modules for adults educators’ better understanding the nature of anger and effective techniques of preventing, de-escalating it;

App as an alternative means of communication with some adult learners.
